The information provided on this page will give you all the tools you need to prepare for the first day of school.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL RESOURCES

Please take some time to review the resources below in preparation for your child's first day of school.

 
School Day Hours

Toddler/Primary – Half Day

• Arrival: 8:30-9 a.m.

• Dismissal: 12-12:15 p.m.

Toddler – Full Day

• Arrival: 8:30-9 a.m.

• Dismissal: 2:40-2:55 p.m.

Primary – Full Day

• Arrival: 8:30-9 a.m.

• Dismissal: 3-3:15 p.m.

Elementary/Middle School

• Arrival: 8-8:15 a.m.

• Dismissal: 3:30-3:45 p.m.

Extended Hours

Students enrolled in Extended Hours may utilize the carline as early as 7 a.m. and must be picked up no later than 6 p.m. Morning arrival requires using the carline and afternoon pick-up requires parking and entering the front office.

Items for the First Day of School
All items brought to school must be clearly labeled with the student’s full name.

Toddler

Diapers/Wipes - If a student is in diapers, please send a labeled box of diapers and wipes to be left at school.

Extra Clothes - Toddler students should bring a change of seasonally appropriate socks, underwear, shoes, multiple t-shirts and elastic waist shorts. These items will be kept at school.

o If clothes are sent home for washing, please return a new change of clothes the next day. Periodically, clothes will be sent home as the child’s size changes.

Nap Mat - Nap mats should be 50 x 20 x 1 inches in size, roll up and have a shoulder strap. Mats are brought in on Monday and left at school throughout the week. We will send it home every Friday for washing. Please do not send pillows, sleeping bags, additional blankets, or stuffed animals for nap/rest time.

Primary

Extra Clothes - Primary students should bring one full set of clothing including underwear and socks. If your child is transitioning from a toddler classroom, we recommend multiple sets to support your child with any potential toileting accidents.

o If clothes are sent home for washing, please return a new change of clothes the next day. Periodically, clothes will be sent home as the child’s size changes.

Elementary/Middle School

Backpack: Backpacks should be used to transport items, such as a change of clothes, to and from school. Students will take home a folder each Thursday with information and notes.

Water bottle: Students may bring a reusable water bottle to school. They will be able to refill these containers as needed.

Uniforms
Starwood uniforms are provided by Risse Brothers Uniforms. We recommend creating an account and adding your students for easy online ordering.

Student Paperwork
You can access your student's paperwork checklist through Starwood's Parent Portal by visiting starwoodacademy.myschoolapp.com. You can also find the login link on our website under the Parents tab in the main menu.

To view your student's paperwork checklist, sign into your account and click Checklist(s) to Review, found in the yellow banner at the top of the page (pictured below). The forms required as part of the checklist will also be listed as items to review in the yellow banner and will be marked as completed as you complete the checklist steps.

Your student's paperwork is not complete until all items under the Checklists to Review and Forms to Review links are submitted, so please continue to check both links until the yellow banner disappears.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Morning Arrival Procedures

• All families must utilize carline.

• When you enter the carline, please pull up as far as possible, put your car in park and do not exit your vehicle.

• A team member will walk to your car to greet your child and assist them out if needed.

• Each child’s belongings (bag, nap mat, water bottle, etc.) go on the floorboard of the car below their seat for easier access by the child.

Late Arrival/Early Departure Procedures

For late arrival or early departure, families enter the campus into the front office, and students will be walked to/from class by a team member. Parents/guardians are not permitted to walk into classrooms at drop-off or pick-up. Early departure is highly discouraged.

Afternoon Dismissal Procedures

• For afternoon dismissal, parents/guardians of primary students may utilize the left traffic lane around the back of the campus to enter stacking Lane B beginning at 2:45 p.m.

• Elementary and middle school parents must not enter carline until 3:30 p.m. If you arrive early, you must wait in parking lot C.

• When you enter the dismissal lane, please pull up as far as possible.

• Display your child’s car sign in the window. This will enable team members to quickly retrieve your child(ren). Students will receive their car sign on the first day of school.

• A team member will walk each student to their vehicle.
