Whether this is your first year at Starwood Academy of Frisco, or you are a returning family, you can prepare for your upcoming conference using these tips!
A conference with your child’s guide is designed to update you on how your child is doing in the classroom. In a Montessori environment, that includes several areas of your child’s classroom experiences that you can expect to learn more about:
The most powerful part of conferences is when families and guides come together to ensure the student’s developmental needs are supported. This nurtures a love of learning and sets the student up for success for the rest of the school year.
To ensure that your guide accurately and thoughtfully answers your questions, it is helpful to submit them before the conference. This will help them prioritize the topics they will address within the allotted time.
Please respect the time allotted for your conference. On conference day, the guides usually schedule back-to-back meetings. If you would like to discuss something further with your guide, please email them directly to schedule an additional time.
After the conference, talk with your Elementary or Middle School student, summarizing the strengths and weaknesses discussed and make plans for reaching the goals established.
